Members of Gibbes, etc. attend a series of programs and art tours, featuring speakers on various topics of current and community interest. In March, they were treated to the art of writing and storytelling by best-selling author, Beth Nonte Russell, who captivated them with a "Forever Lily Moment." She brought them along on her journey to the unexpected adoption of her daughter, Lily, in 1999 and the subsequent writing of the memoir of the events, "Forever Lily." After describing her intense passion to help those orphans "left behind," she explained the creation of the Golden Phoenix Foundation and its funding source, foreverlily, the fragrance inspired by the events and book. The meeting ended with a very insightful and thought-provoking question and answer period with the members.

Since its inception in 2001, Gibbes, etc., has raised more than $700,000 for the Gibbes Museum of Art to fund traveling exhibitions and art education projects.
