foreverlily 2010 Fifi Award Nomination
April 23, 2010 | New York, NY
In a scene reminiscent of the self-funded independent film being recognized in a category of big-budget blockbusters, foreverlily was announced as one the Top 10 finalists for The Fragrance Foundations' esteemed Fifi Award at the awards annual nomination breakfast held at the New York Mandarin Oriental Hotel in April. foreverlily was recognized for excellence in the Best Packaging category, alongside the likes of Prada, Marc Jacobs, Narciso Rodriguez and Brooks Brothers.

The Fragrance Foundation, the non-profit, educational arm of the international fragrance industry, holds the FiFi Awards and Celebration annually to honor creative excellence and achievement in the fragrance industry. They have taken place since 1973 and are attended by over 1,000 members of the international fragrance community, designers and celebrities from the fashion, theatre, film, or television industries.
The recognition in the "Best Packaging" category is of particular significance to the brand as foreverlily's primary and secondary packaging was a tremendous focus in the inception phase. The boxes, designed by Jill Liebman and manufactured by Zorbit, are hand-made, and each one requires 6 hours of individual labor to complete. The box and bottle were created to convey a sense of mystery, refined beauty and intense joy - and each facet of the design holds great symbolism. Like the real-life experience that inspired it, the packaging is unique and special, and is meant to be cherished. "Since our fragrance was created as a means to assist the wearer in opening the heart, we felt we needed to go beyond the expected in our design and quality," states creator Beth Nonte Russell. "We wanted a package and bottle that would convey a sense of 'forever'...something you would not throw away."
